Managing your iPhone storage can be a real challenge, especially if you have a large collection of apps. According to Apple, the average iPhone user has around 50 apps installed, and that's a lot of data taking up space.
To make matters worse, many of these apps are no longer used, but they still occupy precious storage space. In fact, a single unused app can take up to 100 MB of space, which may not seem like a lot, but it adds up quickly.
Fortunately, there's a simple solution: offloading unused apps. By doing so, you can free up a significant amount of storage space and breathe new life into your iPhone.
Offloading Apps
Offloading apps is a great way to free up space on your iPhone, and it's actually quite easy to do. You can manually offload apps by going to Settings > General > iPhone Storage, finding the app you want to offload, and tapping on the Offload App option.
Some apps can be deleted, but others cannot. For example, you can't delete Photos, Phone, Safari, Wallet, Messages, and Health apps. And if you have an Apple Watch paired with your iPhone, you can't delete or offload the Watch and Fitness apps.
You can also automatically offload unused apps on your iPhone by enabling the feature in Settings > General > iPhone Storage. This will allow your iPhone to delete unused apps as your storage gets low.
It's worth noting that offloading an app doesn't delete its data and documents from your device. This means that if you offload an app, you can still download it again in the future and pick up right where you left off.
Here are some steps to manually offload an app:
1. Open Settings and go to General
2. Tap on the iPhone Storage option
3. Find the app you want to offload and tap on it
4. Tap on the Offload App option
By following these steps, you can free up space on your iPhone and keep your apps organized.

You can offload all third-party apps you downloaded from the App Store, as well as several Apple apps like TV, Music, and Maps. However, you can't offload or delete Photos, Phone, Safari, Wallet, Messages, and Health apps.
To manually offload an app, go to Settings, tap on General, and then tap on iPhone Storage. Find the app you want to offload, tap on it, and then tap on the Offload App option.
Offloading an app is different from deleting it, as all the data will be kept. If you offload an app, you can continue to use it without losing any data. For example, if you offload the FaceTime app, you can still make FaceTime calls from the Phone or Contacts app.
Here are some Apple apps that can be offloaded:
- TV
- Music
- Files
- Maps
- Books
- Reminders
- Podcasts
- Contacts
- Calendar
- Shortcuts
- Measure
- Home
- Compass

If you have an Apple Watch paired with your iPhone, you cannot delete or offload the Watch and Fitness apps. But if you donโt have an Apple Watch paired, you can offload or delete the iOS Watch app.
To enable the automatically offload feature, go to Settings, tap on General, and then tap on iPhone Storage. Find the "Offload Unused Apps" option and tap on the "Enable" button.

Manage iPhone Storage
Managing iPhone storage can be a real challenge, especially when you have a lot of apps taking up space. You can manually offload apps without deleting their documents and data from the device.
To do this, go to Settings and then General. Tap on iPhone Storage, and you'll see a list of all the apps on your device. Find the app you want to offload and tap on it.
The next page will give you the option to Offload App, which will remove the app from your device but keep its documents and data intact. This is a great way to free up space without losing any important information.
If you have a lot of apps to offload, you can use a tool like Tenorshare iCareFone to make the process easier. This program can scan your device and list out all the files, including apps, in categories.
To use Tenorshare iCareFone, download and install it on your PC or Mac, then connect your iPhone to the computer. Click "Manage" to scan your device, and the program will list out all the accessible files in a few minutes.
