Clear Data in Settings

Clear Data in Settings is a trick that works only on Android devices.
To log out of Messenger, you need to clear the app data in Settings. This will delete all data that your Messenger application had saved.
First, close the app if you have it open, and remove it from your recent apps list. This trick won’t work if the app is still open.
Open the Settings app, and select the Apps option. Tap on See all apps, and then select the Messenger app.
Select Storage & cache, and then tap on Clear Storage.
Now when you return to launch Messenger in your app drawer, it will not automatically log you in.
Android Origin
To log out of the Messenger app on an Android device, you'll need to access the Facebook app first. The Facebook app is where you'll find the settings to log out of Messenger.
Launch the Facebook app on your Android device to get started. You'll find the hamburger icon in the upper-right corner of your screen, which is the first step to accessing the settings.
