If you're planning a trip abroad, Google Fi's international rates can be a game-changer.

Google Fi's international rates start at $10 per day for 1GB of data, which is a relatively affordable option for travelers.

You can also purchase a single-day pass for $10 or a month-long pass for $70, which includes 1GB of data per day and unlimited domestic and international texting and calling.

This makes it easy to stay connected with family and friends back home without breaking the bank.

Google Fi International Rates

Google Fi's international rates vary based on your plan type and location. You can find detailed rates for calls, texts, and data in the Google Fi app.

If you're in the US, Canada, or Mexico, you won't incur any additional charges for international use. This is because these countries are part of Google Fi's coverage area.

To find out the rates for calls, texts, and data in other countries, you can check the international card in your Google Fi app. It provides information on coverage and rates for the country or region you're in.

Here's a breakdown of Google Fi's international rates:

If you're making calls while abroad, be aware that calls are charged at a flat $0.20 per minute, although they're cheaper when made over Wi-Fi.

Data Roaming Costs

When using data roaming abroad, the costs can add up quickly. Google Fi charges $10/GB to keep high-speed data after the 50GB fair use policy.

If you exceed 50GB of data on the Flexible Plus plan, you'll be charged extra. I exceeded 50GB within 7 days on my T-Mobile SIM, which would have cost me $200.

Google Fi's data roaming costs are significantly lower than T-Mobile's. My total usage across both SIM cards was 54GB in one month, which would have cost me $40 with Google Fi or $200 with T-Mobile.

Data roaming costs can be a major concern when traveling abroad. Google Fi's unlimited data plan makes it a great option for heavy data users.

Here's a comparison of the data roaming costs for Google Fi and T-Mobile:

Google Fi's data roaming costs are clearly more affordable than T-Mobile's. If you're a heavy data user, it's worth considering Google Fi's Flexible Plus plan.

Google Fi Unlimited

Google Fi Unlimited offers a more traditional unlimited plan experience for 70 USD paid in advance. This plan includes 22 GB of high-speed data volume, a significant boost from the standard data limits.

You can make free calls to over 50 countries and territories from inside the US, which is a great perk for frequent international callers.

Google Fi International Charges

Google Fi International Charges are a crucial aspect of using the service abroad. You can find detailed rates for calls, texts, and data in your Google Fi app.

To view your international charges, tap Billing in the app, then under "International calls", tap View Details. This will show you the charges for your usage outside the US.

Calls made while abroad are charged at a flat rate of $0.20 per minute, but are cheaper when made over Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi calling isn't available in every country and on every carrier, so it's best to assume it's billed at this rate.

For covered countries or regions, not including the US, Canada, or Mexico, you can find the detailed rates for calls, texts, and data below.

Google Fi also works in the Philippines, so you can use the service there without any issues.

Google Fi vs Other Providers

Google Fi allows you to use your inclusive data at no extra charge while roaming in one of the 100+ supported countries.

In theory, this should work when you’re connected to one of their specific carriers in that country, but I’ve found that this doesn’t matter as much.

Google Fi performed well in my experience, offering seamless connectivity and no surprise charges.

Google Fi in Specific Countries

Google Fi absolutely does work in the Philippines. If you're planning a trip there, you can rest assured that your Google Fi service will be available.

Google Fi also works in many other countries, but it's always a good idea to check the Google Fi website for the most up-to-date information on international coverage.
