Garmin watches allow you to receive text messages on your wrist, keeping you connected without needing to reach for your phone.

This feature is particularly useful for athletes and fitness enthusiasts who want to stay in touch with friends and family without interrupting their workout.

To receive text messages on your Garmin watch, you need to pair it with your smartphone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity.

Garmin watches support popular messaging apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and SMS, so you can stay connected with your loved ones in real-time.

Enabling Bluetooth Notifications

To enable Bluetooth notifications on your Garmin watch, you'll first need to pair it with a compatible phone. This means holding your watch up and pairing it with your phone.

To pair a Forerunner music watch, select Connectivity and then follow the prompts to pair with your phone. If you have a Forerunner watch, you'll need to select Phone > Notifications > Status > On to enable notifications.

You can choose to receive notifications during activity or general use, and select a notification type that suits your needs. To customize your notifications, select status, tone, and vibration preferences.

Pressing BACK will take you to the previous screen, and you'll need to select privacy and timeout preferences before moving on. You can also add a signature to your text message replies by selecting Signature.

If you're using an Android phone, you can manage notifications through the Garmin Connect app by selecting Settings > Notifications. If you're using an iPhone, you'll need to go to the iOS notifications settings to select the items to show on your watch.
