Yota has a rich history that dates back to 2008. It was founded by Mikhail Zhukov, a Russian entrepreneur.
Yota was initially launched as a mobile internet service provider, offering users a unique combination of mobile internet and TV services. Yota subscribers can enjoy a range of benefits, including access to a vast library of TV channels and on-demand content.
One of the key benefits of Yota is its affordable pricing plans, which cater to different user needs and budgets.
Abonents Can Gift Tariff Copy to Friends
Abonents of Yota can now gift a copy of their tariff to friends and family. This new service allows users to share their tariff plan with others, preserving all conditions, including the monthly fee.
The service works even with archived tariffs that are no longer available for connection. To use it, the tariff owner needs to generate a promo code in the mobile app or personal account and send it to a friend via any messenger.

One person can create up to five copies of their tariff. The promo code is valid for 50 days, after which it returns to the owner if not used.
Yota's operating director, Dmitry Chudesnikov, noted that the company's active tariffs have become a source of pride for its customers. They appreciate not only the low price but also the optimal configuration, which is essentially a digital asset that increases in value over time.
This service is available for any voice tariffs, so users can share their package with friends in any region. For example, a resident of Tyumen can easily share their tariff with a friend from Sochi.
Popular streamers Slava Busters and Vova Bratishkin have become ambassadors for this service, sharing their favorite tariffs with others on a special website.

History of Yota
Yota's history is a fascinating one. In 2006, the company was founded by Denis Sverdlov and Sergey Adonev, who established a WiMAX provider in St. Petersburg.

The first WiMAX network in Russia was deployed by Skartel, Yota's parent company, in 2008 in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, operating on a range of 2.5–2.7 GHz.
In 2012, Yota replaced its WiMAX network with an LTE network on May 9th. This marked a significant shift in the company's technology.
Yota's 4G networks were launched in several Russian cities in September 2012, including Novosibirsk, Krasnodar, Sochi, Samara, Vladivostok, Ufa, Kazan, Moscow, and Saint Petersburg.
Unfortunately, Yota's success was short-lived, and the company filed for bankruptcy in April 2019 due to a lawsuit from its manufacturer, Hi-P Singapore.
