Osu Brings Waves to Da Vinci Days

The OSU Wireless Village will be a highlight of Da Vinci Days, featuring exhibits and learning stations that showcase engineering and its impact on the world.
You'll have the chance to learn about physics while riding a Segway, a two-wheeled personal transporter that responds to your thoughts.
The OSU Wireless Village will be open both Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18, on lower campus along 14th Street.

The O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory will offer guided tours of the new Tsunami Wave Basin and the Large Wave Flume from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
You can also make your own waves in a 16-foot-long, Plexiglas wave tank, and then hop a shuttle to the O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory to see the world's largest and most-wired tsunami wave basin generating big waves.

Mimt Version 1.0
Mimt Version 1.0 was a significant milestone in the development of Wireless Village.
MIMT successfully demonstrated interoperability between their IMPS server and mobile clients from Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, and MIMT J2ME.
The demonstration showcased the ability of MIMT's server to function with various mobile clients, a key factor in achieving interoperability.
MIMT's CEO, Alexander Georgsen, expressed his satisfaction with the demo results, stating that they would continue to develop their clients and features towards the Wireless Village standard.
The Wireless Village version 1.0 specifications enabled interoperability of IMPS services, allowing consumers to view presence information, share content, and send instant messages across different wireless devices.
MIMT's imPAQ platform, introduced in June 2001, enabled voice and text-based Instant Messaging, as well as Presence and Availability functionality.
MIMT's solution was prepared for various mobile devices and platforms, offering clients and servers based on both SIP/SIMPLE and Wireless Village specifications.
The Wireless Village initiative was founded by Ericsson, Motorola, and Nokia in April 2001 to define and promote universal specifications for mobile instant messaging and presence services.
