Your stream appears at the front of your followers' Stories bar with a bright “LIVE” tag.

Availability and Compatibility

Instagram Live is available to users in the US, with a global rollout happening in the next few weeks.

To access Instagram Live, you'll need to update your Instagram app to version 10.2 or later.

You can then swipe right from your home feed to access the live-streaming feature.

A new "Top Live" section has been added to the Explore tab, which highlights some of the best content being broadcast at any given moment.

You can broadcast live on Instagram from your phone, and it works on both iPhone and Android devices. If you have an iPhone or Android, you're good to go!

To start a live broadcast on your phone, open Instagram and tap the ‘+’ icon or swipe right to open the Story camera.

You can choose to share your live broadcast with everyone (Public) or just your close friends.

The process of ending a live broadcast is straightforward: tap “End” when you're finished, then choose whether to save, share, or discard the video.

Watch on Computer

You can watch Instagram Live on your computer via Instagram.com on almost all operating systems, including Windows and Mac.

Just open your web browser and navigate to Instagram.com, then log in with your account.

To view a live broadcast, look for the profile picture at the top of the Feed with a LIVE icon.

Tap on the profile picture with the LIVE icon to enter the live room and watch the live video.

While watching live broadcasts, you can click the Add a comment at the bottom right of the screen to leave your comment.

To stop the live broadcast, click the X in the top right corner.

To access live-streaming, update your Instagram app to version 10.2, which is now available.

A selected group of your friends who've shown interest in Live video or have notifications switched on for your profile will be notified when you go live.
