Adding a second line to your iPhone on Verizon can be a bit tricky, but don't worry, we've got you covered.
To start, you'll need to have an eligible plan that supports multiple lines, such as the Verizon Unlimited plan or a Shared Data plan. You can check your current plan details by logging into your Verizon account online.
The cost of adding a second line will depend on your current plan and the type of phone you're using, but expect to pay around $20-30 per month for the additional line. This includes taxes and fees.
You can add a second line to your iPhone by visiting a Verizon store or by calling Verizon customer service, where a representative will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.

Eligibility and Requirements
To add a Second Number to your iPhone, you'll need to check if your device is eligible. Your mobile phone is eligible if it's compatible with the Verizon network, dual SIM capable, and has one available eSIM.

You can check your device's compatibility by visiting the Verizon website or by using the Verizon app. Some devices may not be compatible with all features supported by the Verizon network.
You'll also need to check if your plan is eligible for the Second Number perk. The Second Number perk can be added to Unlimited Ultimate, Unlimited Plus, and/or Unlimited Welcome plans. You can add one perk per line, and the $10/month per line charge will appear on your mobile bill.
To see if your plan is eligible, sign in to My Verizon or switch to myPlan. If you have Welcome Unlimited, you can also add perks in My Verizon. Keep in mind that some plans may not be eligible for the Second Number perk, and you won't be able to view or add any perks that aren't available to your plan.

Adding a Second Line
You can add a second line to your iPhone with Verizon's Second Number plan, which adds a second line and telephone number to your existing phone for $10/month "plus fees" for a limited time ($15/month after June 5th).

This plan requires a phone capable of dual-SIM via eSIM, which includes many current higher-end phones. Verizon says the service will automatically transfer when a customer upgrades their phone.
To use two phones on the same line, you'd typically need a specific plan or feature from Verizon, like number sharing or a multi-line plan. It's worth checking if your plan supports this setup or if you can set up features like call forwarding to manage multiple devices.
You can swap the SIM card between both phones to have the one you want to use at any given time active, as long as they both use the same SIM.
Setup and Usage
To set up your Second Number, you'll need a dual SIM eligible device, which most devices sold in the past 4 years should be.
You can identify your incoming calls and texts at a glance by looking for an icon with the first letter of the line's label.
To switch between numbers when making a call, simply tap the line you're using and select your second number.
You can also assign a line to a specific contact for more control, and the default line used for new conversations is displayed above their name.
To assign a different number, tap on it and choose a preferred line.
You can start a new text message and see what number is being used by looking at the "From" line.

Billing and Cancellation
Billing for your Second Number perk starts as soon as you buy it and will appear on your mobile bill at $10/month per line. The perk renews automatically each month until you cancel it.
To cancel your Second Number perk, simply visit My Verizon and manage the perk through the Products & plan perks section. You'll get a prorated credit if you cancel mid-month.
If you change your eligible plan, your Second Number perk won't change if you switch to another qualifying plan. However, if you cancel your qualifying plan or change to a non-qualifying plan, your perk ends immediately.
Here's what happens to your Second Number perk if you cancel:
- If you added the perk on the first of the month, you're billed $10 for that month.
- If you cancel on the 15th, you get a $5 credit for the 16th to the 30th.
