If you're a T-Mobile customer who also subscribes to Netflix, you may have noticed some changes to your streaming experience. T-Mobile's Netflix deal allows customers to stream Netflix on their phones and tablets at no extra cost, but there are some limitations.

T-Mobile Netflix customers can stream Netflix on their phones and tablets at no extra cost, but the quality of the stream may vary depending on their data plan.

The quality of the stream can be affected by the customer's data plan, with lower data plans resulting in lower video quality.

T-Mobile offers a range of data plans, including Magenta, Magenta Plus, and Simple Choice, each with varying data limits and speeds.

T-Mobile's Streaming Bundle

T-Mobile offers a streaming bundle with Netflix, Hulu, and Apple TV Plus on certain plans.

The bundle is included in the T-Mobile Go5G Next and Go5G Plus plans, which provide standard Netflix with Ads, Hulu (with Ads), and Apple TV Plus for free.

You can activate the streaming perks if you're already on an eligible plan, or you can join T-Mobile and sign up for one of those plans to get the bundle.

Here are the details of the streaming perks you'll get on eligible plans:

  • Standard Netflix with Ads: T-Mobile customers on any Go5G or Magenta Plan get Netflix's entry-level subscription for free, with discounts if you upgrade to higher tier plans.
  • Hulu (with Ads): T-Mobile offers the entry level Hulu plan, Hulu (with Ads), for free to customers on Go5G Next plans, saving $9.99/month.
  • Apple TV Plus: You can get a free Apple TV Plus subscription with any T-Mobile Go5G Next or Go5G Plus plan, shareable with up to five other people.

Streaming Bundle Setup

To set up T-Mobile's streaming bundle, you'll need to have one of the eligible plans. These plans include Go5G Next, Go5G Plus, and Magenta Max.

The first step is to activate the streaming perks on your plan. If you already have one of these plans, you can do this through the T-Mobile app or website. If you don't have a plan yet, you'll need to sign up for one of the eligible plans.

To activate the perks, you'll need to have an account with at least two lines, unless you have the Magenta Max plan, which only requires one line.

Here are the streaming perks you can expect with each plan:

  • Go5G Next and Go5G Plus plans: Standard Netflix with Ads, Hulu (with Ads), and Apple TV Plus
  • Magenta Max plan: Netflix Basic subscription (one screen HD viewing)

With the Go5G Next and Go5G Plus plans, you can upgrade to higher tier Netflix plans for a discounted rate. For example, if you want to upgrade to a higher tier Netflix plan, you'll only have to pay the upgrade charge, not the full price.

You can share your Apple TV Plus subscription with up to five other people, making it a great perk for families or households with multiple people.

T-Mobile Offers Unlimited Plan

T-Mobile is now offering a free Netflix subscription with its T-Mobile ONE unlimited data plan.

New and current subscribers on unlimited plans with two or more lines will get free Netflix access starting September 12th.

The promotion only covers standard Netflix subscriptions, so anyone with the premium plan will have to pay the difference to T-Mobile.

T-Mobile will pay the annual $120 cost for people who already have a Netflix account, making it a pretty good deal for some families.

The "Netflix on Us" campaign is part of T-Mobile's effort to attract customers to its network.

T-Mobile isn't the first carrier to use streaming video to entice subscribers, as AT&T launched a promotion to offer free HBO Go accounts in April.

T-Mobile's Changes and Impact

T-Mobile's changes to its Netflix on Us promotion are a significant shift, affecting all customers who receive the perk.

Everyone getting Netflix on Us perks from T-Mobile will now get the Standard with Ads plan, regardless of their current plan.

If you're a Magenta Plus/MAX or Go5G Plus/Next subscriber and enjoy the Standard Netflix with no ads for free right now, you'll be downgraded to the Standard with Ads plan and there's nothing you can do about it.

The new plan rules will come into effect starting January 24, as confirmed by T-Mobile on X (formerly Twitter).

The Standard with Ads Netflix plan allows users to stream on two screens simultaneously and in 1080p quality, but it comes with advertisements.

You can still pay T-Mobile a discounted price of $8.50/month if you want the ad-free Standard plan, saving you $6.99 monthly compared to what you would have paid Netflix directly.

T-Mobile's Changes Are Worse Than Thought

T-Mobile is changing its Netflix on Us promo, and it's not looking good for subscribers.

The carrier is moving everyone who gets the Basic Netflix plan through the promotion to the Standard with Ads plan.

This means that if you're a Magenta Plus/MAX or Go5G Plus/Next subscriber and enjoy the Standard Netflix with no ads for free right now, you will be downgraded to the Standard with Ads plan.

T-Mobile has confirmed the changes in the FAQs of its dedicated Netflix on Us page.

The new plan rules will come into effect starting January 24.

The Standard with Ads Netflix plan allows users to stream on two screens simultaneously and in 1080p quality, but it comes with advertisements.

You can still pay T-Mobile a discounted price of $8.50/month if you want the ad-free Standard plan, which saves you $6.99 monthly compared to what you would have paid Netflix directly.

This change affects everyone getting Netflix on Us perks from T-Mobile, not just those getting the Basic plan.

The subsidized fee to get the Standard and Premium plans without ads remains an option for subscribers.

Overpaying Customers: Check Yours Now

If you're a Sky customer, you might be overpaying for Netflix. The US Sun has found that for Netflix Standard, which is worth $15.49 per month, you need to check your plan to see if you're eligible for a perk.

T-Mobile has been asked how many subscribers may be eligible to claim this perk, but they haven't responded yet, so we'll have to wait for an update.

T-Mobile's TV and internet offers are definitely worth checking out.

A Netflix subscription is included with most Magenta and Magenta MAX plans at no extra cost.

For free Netflix Basic, you need to have one of these plans.

This perk is a great value, considering Netflix Basic is worth $9.99 per month on its own.
