The CellSpot is a game-changer for T-Mobile users, especially when it comes to coverage. It's better than WiFi calling because it operates on a different spectrum, specifically 700mhz, 1700mhz, and 2100mhz, which penetrates interior walls better.

WiFi signals, on the other hand, operate on 2400mhz and 5000mhz, making it harder to get a strong signal inside your home. This is why WiFi calling often drops calls or fails to receive incoming calls or texts.

One of the biggest advantages of the CellSpot is that it can function as a tower even without a nearby cell tower. As long as you have a decent internet connection and can plug it into the internet connection, it will work.

Testing and Results

I tested the T-Mobile 4G LTE CellSpot in various locations around my home, and the results were telling. The signal strength varied greatly depending on the distance from the CellSpot.

Point-blank with the CellSpot, I got a signal strength of -46 dBm. This is a good starting point, but it's essential to consider that extended batteries like the Anker 7800mah can lower signal strength.

When I moved my phone to a distance of 8 feet away from the CellSpot, the signal strength dropped to -69 dBm. This is a significant decrease, and it's crucial to note that this might be different for phones with stock batteries.

In the Master Bedroom, which is at the other end of the house, the signal strength was -103 dBm. This is still on the LTE network, but it's a weaker signal than point-blank.

The weakest spot in the house was the Master Bathroom, where I got a signal strength of -105 dBm. Despite being the farthest from the CellSpot and having multiple walls in between, I was still on the LTE network.

My Experience

My experience with the T-Mobile 4G LTE Cellspot was a mixed bag. I was excited to set it up and start using it to extend my internet connection.
