The deal closed on October 25, 2014, after receiving approval from regulatory authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice and the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.

AT&T retained its wireless operations in Connecticut, as well as its networking, application solutions, and professional services for business customers.

The sale of SNET America's assets to Frontier Communications resulted in a significant transfer of employees, with approximately 2700 wireline employees supporting AT&T's operations in the state transferring to Frontier.

Frontier has agreed to honor the existing collective bargaining agreement for employees represented by the Communications Workers of America.

The transaction is estimated to be accretive to adjusted free cash flow per share in the first year for Frontier Communications, and is expected to improve the company's dividend payout ratio by more than 5 percentage points in the first year.

The acquired assets are expected to generate $1.2 billion in annual revenues for Frontier Communications, representing less than 1% of AT&T's total annual revenues as of 2013.
