Microsoft's pinned messages feature in Outlook can be a game-changer for productivity, allowing you to quickly access frequently used emails.
However, many users struggle to find these pinned messages, which can be frustrating and time-wasting.
According to Microsoft's documentation, pinned messages can be found in the "Pinned" section of the email list, but this section is often hidden by default.
You need to click on the "Pinned" tab to access these messages, which can be easily overlooked.
Pinned Messages Not Working as Expected
If you're experiencing issues with pinned messages not working as expected, don't worry, it's not just you. Pinned messages not being at the top for Outlook on Mac is a common problem.
To fix this, you'll need to adjust your Outlook settings. Open Outlook Preferences by pressing the command-, shortcut.
With the Preferences window open, select "Reading" under the "Email" section. You'll need to locate the option "Focused inbox: __ Sort messages into Focused and Other" and check the box to enable it.
This should bring back the Focused and Other tabs, and your pinned messages should return to the top.

Pin Emails in Outlook
Pinned messages can be frustrating to find in Outlook, but there are ways to get them back and even automate the process. If you're using Outlook on Mac, you might have noticed that your pinned messages disappeared.
To get them back, open Outlook Preferences (command-, shortcut) and select "Reading" under "Email". Check the box next to "Focused inbox: __ Sort messages into Focused and Other" to enable it, and your pinned messages should return to the top.
However, if you're using the web version of Outlook, you can automate the process of pinning emails. To do this, log in to your inbox on the web and click the Settings gear icon to select the View all Outlook settings option.
Navigate to Mail → Rules and click Add new rule. Name the new rule and specify the trigger condition, then add the Pin to top action. Click Save to save the rule.
Unfortunately, this feature is only available on the web version of Outlook, so if you're using the desktop or mobile version, you'll need to look into third-party tools like Clean Email to help you flag and pin emails.
