Intelig Telecom Acquisition
Intelig Telecom was acquired by Telecom Italia through TIM Brasil in 2009.
The acquisition had the objective to boost the TIM data infrastructure, which was suffering from the growth in users of its 3G services.
ANATEL granted authorization for the merge on August 6, 2009.
Nelson Tanure, a Brazilian businessman, also acquired Intelig Telecom in 2009 through his company Docas Investimentos S.A.
The value of the deal was not disclosed, and the transfer of control was pending approval from regulatory bodies.
Tanure had previously considered acquiring a stake in Telemig Celular and Amazônia Celular.
