To create a custom icon, follow these steps: Open the Shortcuts app and tap the blue + icon at the top right corner of the screen. Tap 'Add Action' and then select the 'Scripting' icon. Next, select 'Open App' and choose the app you want to customize. Tap on the ellipsis (3 dots) and 'Choose Photo' to add your own image.

You can also download an app called Shortcuts from the App Store if it's not already preloaded on your phone. Once you have the app, you can follow the same steps as above to create a custom icon.

Change Shortcuts

To change the icon of an app on your iPhone, you'll need to use the Shortcuts app. This app is preloaded on your iPhone, so you can find it on your home screen.

The first step is to launch the Shortcuts app and tap the + icon in the top-right corner of the screen. Tap Add Action, then search for Open App in the text field.

To select the app you want to change the icon of, use the search field to find it in the list, then select it. Tap the down-facing chevron at the top next to "Open App" to add the app to the shortcut.

Next, tap Add to Home Screen to create a new icon for the app. You can choose a custom icon image by tapping the placeholder picture icon on the left and selecting Take Photo, Choose Photo, or Choose File.

To rename the app, simply type in the new name in the text field. Finally, tap Add to save the shortcut.

Here's a step-by-step guide to changing an app's icon with Shortcuts:

  1. Launch the Shortcuts app and tap the + icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Tap Add Action and search for Open App.
  3. Select Open App and tap App.
  4. Use the search field to find the app you want to change the icon of, then select it.
  5. Tap the down-facing chevron at the top next to "Open App" and tap Add to Home Screen.
  6. Tap the placeholder picture icon on the left and select your replacement image.
  7. Rename the app by typing in the new name in the text field.
  8. Tap Add to save the shortcut.

If you already had the app on your home screen, you'll now have two different icons for it. To keep only your newly-created icon, simply move the old icon to the App Library.
