You can hide Chrome omnibox suggestions by enabling a simple flag in Chrome's experimental features.

This feature is called "hcos" and it's a great way to declutter your browser and take control of your search results.

By disabling omnibox suggestions, you'll be the one in charge of what you see when you type in the address bar.

You can do this by typing "chrome://flags/#hcos" in the address bar and enabling the "Hide Omnibox Suggestions" flag.

What are Hcos

Hcos is a Chrome extension designed to prevent search history from being displayed in the omnibox since the Chrome update in 2020.

This extension was created to address an infuriating feature that Google provided no means to disable.

It simply prevents previous searches from being displayed in the omnibox, without affecting the search history itself.

Hide Omnibox Suggestions

The omnibox is a multifunctional address bar that can be simply understood as an address bar. It's a crucial part of the Chrome browser.

To hide the historical search suggestions that pop up after the cursor in the address bar of the new tab page is focused, you can use the HCOS extension. This extension is designed to delete the Google search record in the background.

You can also add a custom website to the HCOS extension by opening the extension options page and adding a custom URL prefix to the page. This allows you to control which websites are included in the extension's functionality.

To disable search suggestions and URL prediction in the omnibox, you can uncheck the option "Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar" in the Chrome Settings page. This option is located under the Privacy section.

You can easily disable these suggestions by going to the Settings page of Chrome.

To do this, open the Settings page from the main menu of Chrome and scroll to the bottom.

Click on the "Show advanced settings …" link to access the advanced settings.

Under the Privacy section, uncheck the option "Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar".

This should disable the search suggestions and URL prediction in the omnibox.
