NYCHA residents can now enjoy free WiFi access in their homes thanks to a new initiative. This is a game-changer for many families who struggle to afford internet access.

The free WiFi is made possible through a partnership between NYCHA and a leading internet service provider. This partnership aims to bridge the digital divide and provide equal access to the internet for all residents.

Residents can access the free WiFi by simply turning on their devices and connecting to the NYCHA WiFi network.

NYCHA's Free WiFi Program

The Big Apple Connect program provides a free bundle that consists of in-home, high-speed internet, a modem, and a router.

This bundle also includes basic cable TV service, including a cable box and a remote control.

Free WiFi hot spots are available in common areas.

Almost every NYCHA resident across the city has been connected to broadband in under a year through this program.

The program has expanded to 30,000 city residents who are getting free internet and cable for the first time.

The expansion includes nine developments in Manhattan, seven in Brooklyn, and one in the Bronx.

Harlem NYCHA residents are among the lucky ones who recently got free internet and cable through the city's Big Apple Connect program. This expansion brings high-speed internet, a modem, a router, basic cable TV service, and common area Wi-Fi hotspots to three Harlem developments.

The three Harlem developments that received this upgrade are the Jefferson Houses, Manhattanville Houses, and Saint Nicholas Houses. The Jefferson Houses are located between First and Third avenues along East 115th Street.

The Big Apple Connect program provides a free bundle that includes in-home high-speed internet, a modem and a router, basic cable TV service, and common area Wi-Fi hotspots. This bundle is available to over 30,000 city residents.

To connect to the NYCHA Wi-Fi, residents can follow these simple steps: Select Apps on the home screen, open Settings and select Wi-Fi, ensure Wi-Fi is turned on, and select the NYCHA Wi-Fi network ("nychafreewifi") from the list.

The free NYCHA Wi-Fi service uses no data allowance from a mobile plan, making it a convenient option for residents.
