The outage was caused by the failure of key internal software services that operate the core network.

Elon Musk and senior executives apologized for the disruption, promising to root cause the issue and prevent it from happening again.

Beijing is also exploring other countermeasures, including deploying small optical telescopes to monitor Starlink arrays and concocting deep fakes to create fictitious targets.

SpaceX is planning to launch the next generation of Starlink satellites on a reusable rocket called Starship from their facility in Boca Chica, TX.
