DropboxPortableAHK is a free and open-source tool that lets you run Dropbox on any USB drive or external hard drive, making it portable. This means you can take your Dropbox files with you wherever you go, without having to worry about installing it on a specific computer.
This tool is based on AutoHotkey, a scripting language that allows you to automate tasks and create custom hotkeys. By using DropboxPortableAHK, you can save space on your computer and still have access to your Dropbox files.
DropboxPortableAHK is a great option for users who need to access their Dropbox files on multiple computers, or who want to keep their Dropbox files separate from their computer's hard drive.

Beta V1.6.9
DropboxPortableAHK has finally received an update after a two-year hiatus, with the release of beta version v1.6.9.
This new version brings support for Dropbox versions greater than 72.4.136, which is a big deal for users who've been experiencing incompatibility issues.

You can now pass ‘-disable-shortcuts’ to DropboxPortableAHK.exe to prevent shortcuts from interfering with startup.
The update will be rolled out through the auto update of DropboxPortableAHK, so you don't need to do anything except wait for it to download.
After the update, you'll probably need to re-run through the Dropbox setup to correctly link it to your account again.
It would be great if some of you'd consider sending a donation, especially those that use DropboxPortableAHK for work.

Known Issues
Unfortunately, Dropbox Portable has some limitations.
One known issue is that it can only sync files up to 2 GB in size, which may not be suitable for large files or projects.
Dropbox Portable can't sync files that are already open in other applications, so be sure to close any files you're working on before syncing.
Another issue is that it doesn't support file sharing or collaboration, which may be a drawback for teams or groups working on projects together.
Dropbox Portable can be a bit finicky when it comes to network connectivity, so make sure you have a stable internet connection before using it.
It's also worth noting that some users have reported issues with file permissions and access rights, so be careful when syncing files to ensure everything is properly set up.
Dropbox Portable is not suitable for use with certain types of files, such as system files or files that require administrator access.
If you're experiencing any issues with Dropbox Portable, be sure to check the official support documentation for troubleshooting tips and solutions.

Status Update
I've been a bit MIA lately, and I know it's been a while since my last update. Since then, I moved to a new city and things got pretty hectic.
DropboxPortableAHK was broken for a few weeks due to a Dropbox software update, and I apologize for not being able to provide an update during that time. I was also unreachable via the website or email because I didn't have my development machine with me until now.
The community members at the user group came to the rescue with some great instructions that allowed you to continue using DropboxPortableAHK while it was broken. I'd like to thank Henk van den Akker, Xavier Geoffret, Alfonso Arciniega, and Juraj Frankovský for their contributions and help.
I've just published the latest Dropbox version (v48.4.58) to bring DropboxPortableAHK back from the dead. I'm determined to provide faster updates in the future, and I'm even considering making them fully automatic.
It's great to see that there are still quite a few users around, and I'm grateful for your continued support. If you're an active user, please consider leaving a comment or sending me an email to let me know how DropboxPortableAHK helps you.
