Gmail will highlight words you've accidentally misspelled with a red squiggly line, and soon, it will also auto-correct some spelling mistakes as you type using its AI-powered algorithms for G Suite users.
Corrections will apply to "common spelling mistakes" users often make, and the feature is rolling out now to select users, with a broader rollout expected by mid-September.
The auto-correction feature will temporarily underline the corrected change so you can easily identify and undo the correction if you'd like.
Gmail is also getting a grammar-correcting feature, which is based on technologies already available in Google Docs, but it's only coming to Gmail users who pay for Google's G-Suite office programs, in addition to G-Suite education users.
This feature works by placing a blue squiggly line under any incorrectly used words or phrases, and you can then click on the highlighted terms and Google will suggest the proper correction.
