iPhones have a built-in GIF library that's easily accessible. You can find it in the keyboard, under the "Apps" tab.

To access the GIF library, you need to have an iPhone with iOS 13 or later. This feature is not available on older iOS versions.

GIFs are stored in the "Apps" tab of the keyboard, making it easy to search and share them with friends and family.

Accessing iPhone Keyboard

You can access a library of GIFs through iMessage by tapping the ‘A’ icon, selecting the “GIF” option, and exploring trending or categorized GIFs. Users can also search for specific GIFs using keywords.

To access the GIF keyboard on your iPhone, you'll need to have iOS 10 or later installed. Once you're running the latest software, you'll have a GIF keyboard built-in to the Messages app.

To activate the GIF keyboard, open Messages and compose a new message or open an existing one. Then, tap the ‘A’ (Apps) icon to the left of the text field.

If you're having trouble finding the GIF keyboard, you can try tapping the icon with four bubbles in the bottom left corner. This should bring up the #images GIF app.

Here's a step-by-step guide to accessing the GIF keyboard:

  1. Open Messages and compose a new message or open an existing one
  2. Tap the ‘A’ (Apps) icon to the left of the text field
  3. Tap on #images to browse, search and choose a GIF

Once you've chosen a GIF, you can add text to go along with it before sending it.

Third-Party Keyboards Setup

You can download third-party GIF keyboards from the App Store or within the iMessage App Store.

To get started, tap on Store (the + icon) in Messages to browse and find third-party apps that can be used within Messages.

Two popular options are GIPHY and GIF Keyboard, both of which are free apps.

If you download an app through the iMessage App Store, a standalone app will also be downloaded to your Home screen in most cases.

You'll see an indication of iMessage App compatibility below the app's icon when browsing the App Store.

Once you download the app, you'll see it also show up within Messages.

Using Gifs

You can find thousands of cool GIFs on GIPHY, a free app with a vast collection that's easily searchable.

GIPHY is available for download from the App Store, and it's free.

To start using GIPHY, simply open the app on your iPhone. If you're still in the App Store, tap "Open" once the app is installed.

You can browse through categories like Trending, Reactions, and Cats, or search for your favorite topics, moods, or keywords using the magnifying glass at the bottom.

Once you find a GIF you like, tap on it to select it.

To send a GIF, tap the paper airplane icon beneath the selected GIF.

You'll then be presented with options for sending the GIF to your friends, including apps like Messages, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter.

To share a GIF in a text message, tap the green-and-white speech bubble icon, and then choose a recipient and type a message if you'd like.

Here are the steps to send a GIF in different apps:

  1. Tap the app you want to share with.
  2. Address and send the message.

Now that your GIF is attached to a new message in the selected app, you're ready to send it to your friends!
