If you're a Kia car owner, you're in luck - Android Auto is now available in many of your vehicle's models. This means you can seamlessly integrate your Android device with your car's infotainment system.
One of the main benefits of Android Auto in your Kia is the ability to access a wide range of apps directly from your car's screen. You can use popular apps like Google Maps, Waze, and Spotify to navigate, communicate, and entertain yourself on the go.
To get started with Android Auto in your Kia, you'll need to ensure your car is compatible with the system. Fortunately, many Kia models from 2016 and later are supported.
The installation process is relatively straightforward, and you can find detailed instructions in the user manual that comes with your car.
Getting Started
To start using Android Auto in your Kia, connect your smartphone to the USB port via the cable supplied with the smartphone, or access the phone projection devices list and select your smartphone.
You can also access the phone projection devices list by pressing All Menus>Phone Projection on the Home screen.
When the smartphone is recognized successfully, the Android Auto menu is activated on the All Menus screen.
Depending on Google's policies, the icons on the main screen of Android Auto may change, so be sure to check the Android homepage (https://www.android.com/auto) for the latest information.
To use phone projection in optimized environments, update your smartphone's operating system to the latest version.
Note that using phone projection may result in mobile communication charges, so be mindful of your data usage.
If you're connecting the device for phone projection for the first time, read the message on the notification pop-up window and press OK.
A list of things to keep in mind while using Android Auto via a USB connection:
- Do not connect and disconnect a USB connector repeatedly in a short time, as this may cause an error in the device or a system malfunction.
- When phone projection is active via USB, you cannot change the USB connectivity setting. To change the setting, remove the USB cable from your system.
- Depending on the connected device's hardware, firmware, and operating system versions, the recognition time may vary.
- Avoid controlling your smartphone while phone projection is in use.
Wireless Connectivity
To set up wireless connectivity with your Android Auto Kia system, you'll need to pair your smartphone with the system for phone projection. Press All Menus > Setup > Device Connections > Phone Projection on the Home screen.
