Students will not be bored by this 50-minute session, as an array of training equipment is utilized to sculpt the muscles and elevate the heart rate. Aerobic routines and strength-building moves are performed with steps, small balls, and hand weights (three- to eight-pound weights are suggested for women and five to 15 for men). Choreography is simple and approachable during the cardio segments; however, participants with compromised backs, necks, or joints may want to modify their impact in this portion. Power movements that include plyometrics, kicks, and jumping jacks will make you break a sweat, but this portion may be difficult for some students to execute safely. Weightlifting and isometric exercises are spliced between these "cardio bursts" and use a full range of motion. A variety of lower-body exercises (like lunges, squats, and pliƩs) are done with attention to body alignment and proper form. The upper body is trained with the small ball (for isometric exercises) and hand weights (for curls and lateral lifting). This program's challenging and unique format, with its diverse approach to familiar exercises, will hold the attention of many participants.
