Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
Babymugs is little more than a 30-minute parade of infant faces--some drooling, some chortling, some yawning, etc. But it's phenomenally popular, as the two film-industry-outsider moms who rustled up the energy and ingenuity to pull the tape together in the mid '90s were fortuitous enough to find out, because babies three months and older are natural-born oglers. Watching other tykes, it turns out, is key to an early-development phase involving behavior; the sight of laughter or bewilderment or tears or frustration triggers recognition and, eventually, thoughtful responses. In essence, early exposure to other real, live babies' mugs may make for more sociable children--a good reason to buy this tape if the latest baby boom has yet to hit your block. Little ones may also take a liking to the video's thoughtfully selected background music. A roadhouse blues number, a little smooth jazz, a country twanger, and a simple guitar lullaby, among others, set the stage for this uncommonly cute showcase, which, to its credit, is also reasonably inclusive. The producers round out the roundup with a sprinkling of Asian American, African American, and Hispanic mugs, not to mention a few enormously fat ones and some sporting the sort of ears destined to incite future schoolyard bullies, adequately doing the trick of putting a face (many faces, actually) on the American populace. --Tammy La Gorce

mezmerizing
Although this movie is old and incredibly boring to sit through (I had a hard time keeping my eyes open every time), my little guy would sit absolutely still and stare at the kids every time. He's older now, so it doesn't have the same effect, but as a 4 month-year old, I used this to entertain him so I could get things done or calm him down. If nothing else, it's fun to judge how cute your kid is compared to some of those baby mugs! :)

Ugly, Not Appropiate for Children under 1 month
We had this video from New Hampshire to Missouri and no one has ever liked it. To be honest with all you moms, this movie turned out to be one big nightmare which we fortunately got rid of. I'd have to admit that this movie is not appropriate for children under 1 month because it doesn't show very good quality for those of you who have children that are only a month old. If you are looking for a video for your baby, I reccomend Tik Tak.

This is awful!!
I have purchased several baby videos, and this is the worst one I have ever seen. The music is just awful -- it starts out with something that sounds like the Allman Brothers -- not very baby-friendly! I had to mute it to continue. The quality of the picture is so awful that it soon didn't matter what music was playing -- it would not hold my son's attention because the picture was so bad and non-stimulating. Save your money, stay away from this video, and look into the Brainy Baby series -- those are wonderful.

NOT WORTH IT!!
I bought this video today and am not one to take the time to write a reveiw, but this video was so horrible that I want to be sure that no other parent spends any money for it.The music is not child freindly, some of the babies are actually frightening!!I thought this would be like baby faces video(which I could not find) I was shocked when I saw the poor quality of this video. I think I could have made a better one!!

Uneven
I bought this video for my son recently, when he was just over three months old. When he's in the mood, he seems intrigued by it, though he was a little overwhelmed by all the images at first. I would recommend it to try for young babies, with two cautions/complaints: there are sections where it's not even moving video, but just still shots of baby faces (this is silly and boring). And two, my baby got frightened and started crying when, about two thirds of the way through, they started unnecessary quick-cut editing that has faces popping up, zipping off screen, etc. Perhaps not for sensitive younger babies.
