Prodcut Description: [More Information ...] Disney's 1992 animated feature is a triumph of wit and skill. The high-tech artwork and graphics look great, the characters are strong, the familiar story is nicely augmented with an interesting villain (Jafar, voiced by Jonathan Freeman), and there's an incredible hook atop the whole thing: Robin Williams's frantically hilarious vocal performance as Aladdin's genie. Even if one isn't particularly moved by the love story between the title character (Scott Weinger) and his girlfriend Jasmine (Linda Larkin), you can easily get lost in Williams's improvisational energy and the equally entertaining performances of Freeman and Gilbert Gottfried (as Jafar's parrot). --Tom Keogh

Reviews:
Great family film Aladdin is among the Disney greats. A good, clean, yet exciting story for the younger audience and still plenty of hilarious references for the adults. The Platinum Edition has great picture and sound quality to match the magical soundtrack. I highly recommend it for people of all ages! Happy with product First time buyer using Amazon. Happy with product packaging and quick delivery of product. One of my favorites of the disney collection Great availablity of a vaulted Disney movie!!! Not available ANYWHERE else... believe me, Ive looked. DVD This DVD came quicker than I expected and it looked brand new. My daughter loves it and watches it 3 times a day. That is all that mattered. Spectacular Edition to one of the Funniest Movies I've Seen! Sure, there are the classics like CINDERELLA and SLEEPING BEAUTY. There are Pixar marvels like WALL-E and FINDING NEMO (which I adore). But for me, the real golden age of Disney came during the time when Alan Menken made animated musicals. POCHAHONTAS, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE LITTLE MERMAID, and ALADDIN are some. These are the real Disney classics.
I recieved this as an unexpected Christmas present several years ago, and was pleasantly surprised. I watched the film and the special features. They impressed me beyond compare. Besides the glorious film itself, the special features are some of the very best I've seen, and that's saying a lot. THREE WISHES, the comprehensive making-of documentary, is a joy to watch. The cartoon of the Genie's round-the-world vacation is short but sweet, and the 3D magic carpet adventure is stunning. And those are just three.
Of course, if you don't like the movie, there's no reason to buy this DVD. But if your a long-time fan of the film and are waiting for a good oppurtunity to toss out your old VHS tape, then this is it. |
