Avalon Sunset [Read More ...]
Review: "There is no past, there is only now":For whatever reason, it took me longer to come around to Avalon Sunset than any other Van album, bar Saint Dominic's Preview(which is currently my second-favorite of his career, behind the almighty Astral Weeks). I don't know what about it I ...

Too Long in Exile [Read More ...]
Review: a true overlooked gem:How does one filter through a catalog like Van's. Hopefully based on reviews by Van's fans. This album has so many exceptional moments that I actually find myself playing it more than ANY other of Morrison's recordings. It is a record for the fans though. If...
The Philosopher's Stone [Read More ...]
Description: For an artist's most devout fans, a peek at the sketches can speak volumes about the final canvas, and that's the merit behind this two-CD compilation of shelf tracks and alternate takes from Van Morrison's 1971-1988 studio output. The Philosopher's Stone favors his core instinct...
A Sense of Wonder [Read More ...]
Review: I will call my love philosophy....:This is another masterpiece from Van, one of his most beautiful, poetic albums. The opener, Torn Down a la Rimbaud, not only has a great title (how many rock musicians talk about Rimbaud), but it's a great opener and a precursor of things to co...

Review: Celtic Amazing Grace :A spiritual experience Vince Gill and Sinead O'Connor, laced with levity Mick Maloney, add to this recipe Eileen Ivers on Fiddle, the Chieftans, Van Morrison are some of my favorites. There isn't one track on this CD that you'll skip. The theme thoughout i...
Inarticulate Speech of the Heart [Read More ...]
More beautiful music from Van the Man!:Beautiful & poetic. Perhaps not Van's best, but this one has a lingering, haunting quality. If you're in to Van's late 70s/1980s spiritual-side (IMHO his best work), it's a must! Pleasing sounds, striking lyrics.
