      American Idiot

Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
The first original album since 2000 from modern rock superheroes Green Day, American Idiot is one of the most anticipated and controversial albums of the year. Scathing yet self-effacing as it tells the tale of Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, American Idiot is the punk rock epic. "A bold, polished punk opera." (Entertainment Weekly) "They're the biggest, most successful, punk band the world has ever seen. What's more, Green Day's next album may well be their masterpiece." (Kerrang!)

International Superhits!

Green Day takes the title International Superhits literally, offering a no-surprises compilation of all the songs that made a big dent on commercial radio. From the pop-punk heroes' breakthrough album Dookie ("Longview," "Welcome to Paradise") through Insomniac ("Brain Stew"),...
Nimrod
Nimrod

Nimrod came along two years after 1995's Insomniac and was the first indication of Green Day's willingness to stretch the boundaries of punk rock. The fullness of the record is first hinted at on "Hitchin' a Ride," which starts out chug-a-lugging and then breaks into a raging roc...
Warning
Warning

After two years off following the release of the genre-expanding Nimrod, the usually insouciant trio Green Day are open to some weighty self-analysis. Gone are the raging rants, cartoonish antics, and anthropological musings about the punk scene, replaced by an introspection that...

All the Right Reasons
All the Right Reasons

Throughout their nine-year career, Nickelback have stayed true to their roots, releasing five CDs of straight-up, unapologetic rock & roll. So how have things changed for the Canadian boys since the massive success of Silver Side Up and The Long Road? Well, brothers Chad and Mike...
The Black Parade
The Black Parade

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has alternately described his band's third album as "completely over the top" and "borderline psychotic." But even those words can't adequately prepare fans of the group's 2004 platinum major-label debut, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, fo...
Minutes to Midnight
Minutes to Midnight

Minutes to Midnight stands to defend Linkin Park's status as the hardest-rockin' softies in mainstream music. Like its predecessors Hybrid Theory (2000) and Meteroa (2003), Minutes to Midnight flexes plenty of decibel-heavy muscle ("Given Up," "Bleed It Out," "No More Sorrow") an...

Four-year career hiatuses followed by sprawling double-albums could spell trouble for a band of the Chili Peppers' stature: consider they'd originally recorded enough for three discs. The restless, trouble-plagued outfit that helped break alternative rock into the mainstream with...

Things have gone ridiculously well for Coldplay since 2002's A Rush of Blood to the Head. The group's global album sales have soared past the 10-million mark, putting it in the same stratosphere as megabands U2 and the Dave Matthews Band. People have offered up their bank account...

Reviews:

Idiotic
An album by Green Day entitled american idiot for idiot americans. That about sums it up.

True punk!
Who needs those lame Sex Pistol albums like "London Calling", that Ramones junk and Adicts garbage? We've got true punk right here and it's called "American Idiot" by Green Day!

My favorite CD
Solid from first note to the last! Best GD yet. If you don't have this, you should!!!

One of the greatest albums I've heard in a long time
I was never a Green Day fan growing up, but gave this an open listen and I was blown away. It's so hard to put into words how amazing this album is.

Best Green Day CD.
I have heard all the songs on Insomniac and Dookie and loved them. When I got this I was expecting kind of the same music but got totaly different and I like it.They kinda got away from their punk roots but that's fine by me.I love all the songs on here. The only song that I could live without was Rock and Roll Girlfriend segment on Homecoming. My personal favorite song on the album was either Holiday or Saint Jimmy. The lyrics are sometimes hard to understand because of his accent but you can always go on google to see what they are.The guitar, drum, and backup singers all are very talented and do a fantastic job.Recommended to any Green Day fan.
