Sheryl Crow fans looking for a straightforward concert video can't go wrong with this 83-minute set, recorded in Detroit during the Globe Sessions tour of early 1999. Appearing in black leather pants and a black string-strap top, Cheryl's poised and professional, driving throu...

The Very Best of Sheryl Crow

Thirty songs, spread out over two discs and well over two and a half hours, with fine performances, great sound, and good visual direction: it's all here on Farewell 1 Tour, a documentary of the Eagles' 2004 concert in Melbourne, Australia. At one point, the veteran band seemed u...

C'mon America 2003
the best live concert of Sheryl I've seen! Lots of energy, fun to watch and jam with!

Best Sheryl Crow product to have, if you have just one
I've been a Sheryl Crow fan (albeit not all that devout) since her debut album was the first record I ever bought based only on listening booth exposure. I have to say that this DVD will probably be looked back at as her peak. Her best songs (at least so far) were written by this point, so they're all on here. She looks fabulous, and sounds great, especially on 5.1. I disagree about the complaints about the editing. That is, when I'm at a show, I like to look around and take in the band, especially the hands of whoever is playing something noteworthy. There's also a nice mix of backstage short clips so it's not just a stage video. At this point, Sheryl's show has branched out from her being only on one instrument, and all her stuff is better live, just to get away from that over-produced sound. I think that when we look back at Sheryl's ouerve, this disc will stand out as her at her best.

Sheryl is The "Real Deal"
This is the first Sheryl Crow concert DVD I bought, and I was not at all disappointed. I was a little wary, due to several reviewers who complained about the editing. Well, it did not detract from my enjoyment of the concert at all. I found it just added to the excitement generated by the show. Sheryl's performance is fantastic, her band is terrific, and the sound is great. For over two hours, I was just totally rocking with her. This concert was played in Dayton, Ohio, and she interacts with the audience quite a bit. This is something I enjoy, as one reason I like to buy concert DVD's as opposed to videos, is that you can see a bit of the true personality of the performer come out. You can really see what Sheryl's like in the way she enjoys performing, in the way she enjoys relating to her bandmates, and to the audience. At the end of the show, they show her backstage, enjoying a glass of wine, before signing autographs. She seems pepped up and excited with the thrill of the concert. She plays all the great songs we all love from the C'Mon, C'Mon album on back (and plays them flawlessly, I may add). Her performance is electrifying. She has three costume changes, and I'm not really sure, but there may be three concerts featured as well. There is some behind the scenes footage of Sheryl and the crew, with commentary by Sheryl of her love of America and touring, which is really nice. She comes across as genuine and authentic, the Real Deal.

Don't buy this DVD!!!!!!
C'mon America 2003 While the music quality and songs are great, the video quality stinks. The description says this is a wide-screen DVD but it is in an analog format. This means on that beautiful HDTV you have you will have a black top, bottom and sides. The DVD doesn't offer any other viewing method within the menu. The only way to view this in full wide-screen is to have and use the analog input into the TV and use the zoom function to get rid of the bars. This will make the picture grainy and hard to watch (no it's not my TV - I have a very high-end system). This was very disappointing since in the DVD literature it says the concert was filmed in HDTV. In fact, portions aired in HD on HD-NET a few months back. This is what prompted me to purchase. Very disappointing!

great production
The reviews that say the editing is too erratic are overblown, IMO. I'm tired of watching all these videos of bands where 90% of the focus is the 'star' singing, maybe playing a little of their instrument while the rest of the band is ignored. How many times have you seen a video where the camera parks on the star while the lead guitar player is burning through that fantastic lead riff?? And maybe the editor or cameraman shows a bit of expression of his face for a second (while all us musicians want to see some of that amazing fingerboard action). I agree the editing is a bit erratic, but overall I give the total package 5 stars, maybe 4 for editing but I think it still ranks up near the top. But then again, I'm a musician and I play, so YMMV....... Great audio with the 5.1 dolby, great video shot with HD sony cams, great band, great tunes, (great Sheryl) what else do you want?
