 MPWeb PRO is a web server for Windows that allows you to host web sites on your own computer. It is more fully-featured than the standard, free version. By hosting your web site on your own computer, you can have total control over every aspect of it. If your web site requires that some extra program be available, you don't have to persuade your web host to install it for you. You have virually unlimited space available for your site, and aren't going to be billed for high bandwidth use. In addition to providing access to web pages and graphics stored on your computer, MPWeb PRO also supports CGI programs, allowing dynamic database-driven pages to be displayed. Web pages hosted in MPWeb PRO can be limited to people with a specific user name and password, allowing private areas to be created in a public web site. A full log file in standard log file format is generated, so you can use any standard program for analysing the usage of your web site. MPWeb PRO runs as a service in the background, so your desktop is not cluttered with an additional window, and it is still running when you log off your computer. |
